Tehran (IP) - The former foreign minister of Iran has criticized the inability of the United Nations and said: "It is an organization that is in the hands of oppressors so it cannot protect the oppressed people."

Iran PressIran news: Tehran University of Medical Sciences students convened on Oct 23, 2023, to support Palestinians.

Attending the event, the top foreign policy aide to Iran's leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said that the United Nations is besieged by the arrogant powers, as it is fearing to stop Israel's massacre.

Former Foreign Minister Kamal Kharazi said that the Al Aqsa Storm Operation is considered a formidable defeat for Israel, as Hamas follows the Islamic Revolution's path.

Kharazi said: "With such a move, they cemented the foundations of their anti-human power."

Kharazi added: "We have seen many criminals and bloodthirsty throughout history. For this reason, after the Second World War, the world powers thought of forming the United Nations and established laws to prevent the repetition of such crimes."

He further questioned the power of the United Nations and said: "This organization cannot prevent Israel's crime against the people of Gaza. This organization is useless because the United States, with its veto power, prevents moves that benefit the oppressed."

Iran's former top diplomat added: "Today we see a new movement called the Islamic Revolution. If you see that today the Palestinians were able to stand up to Israel and carry out amazing operations, it is because of the Islamic Revolution of Iran. Before the Iranian revolution, there was no such movement and the Palestinian leaders were looking for a so-called peace. Today, the Islamic revolution has exposed the power of Muslims in Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, and Iraq."

He pointed out: "Today, we are facing criminals who show no mercy to anyone and have killed more than 5,000 people in Gaza. If once Westerners were proud of their democracy and had prominent leaders like Churchill and de Gaulle, today they are declining. On the contrary, the awareness of Muslims is increasing. Today, Muslims are much more aware of their rights than before, and these are the results of the Islamic Revolution."
