Iran Press/ Iran news: Speaking at the second martyrdom anniversary of Lt. Gen. Qasem Soleimani, Qais Hadi Sayed Hasan al-Khazali noted that Qasem Soleimani and his companions maintained the world's security and peace by sacrificing their lives.
Qais al-Khazali said that the US sIraq'sntends to stay in the region despite Iraq's objection.
They spent a lot establishing terrorism like ISIS, but have failed, said the official.
The US invaded Iraq in 2003 under the pretext of destroying the weapons of mass destruction in the country under its ally, the Baathist Saddam. The invasion has been ongoing until today. The US also claimed that its troops were in Iraq to bring democracy and peace, but instead, ISIS came and slaughtered people.
The US also assassinated Lt. Gen. Qesem Soleimani, who inflicted heavy defeats on ISIS and prevented the terrorist group from further expansion and thus further massacre.
Lt. Gen. Soleimani, the former commander of the Quds Force of Iran's Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, former Deputy Commander of Iraq's Mobilization Units (PMU), and their companions were martyred outside Baghdad International Airport last January on the direct order of the former US President Donald Trump.
General Soleimani was assassinated by the US while he was in Baghdad at the official invitation of the Iraqi government.
