Syrian Army raids oil smuggle equipment

Syrian Army raided oil depots and refineries in northern parts of the country used to smuggle its oil to neighboring Turkey.

Iran Press/Middle East: Certain local Kurdish groups which apparently declare Turkey as their enemy are in the illegal business of selling oil by tankers from Aleppo province in Syria and Erbil Province in northern Iraq, according to the official Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).

Their equipment was destroyed in the attack by the Syrian Arab Army and the operation against smuggling oil from Syrian territory will seriously continue, it quoted informed local sources saying on Wednesday.

The majority of Syria's oil and gas resources were taken by the Daesh terrorist group in 2011 but after its defeat, the groups loyal to the US occupation forces have been looting them for the last two years.

The Syrian Army has increased its operation in the enclaves occupied by armed groups including in the oil-rich areas.
