European Union Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini, Yemen, Aden

European Union Foreign Policy Chief criticized the recent struggles between UAE and Saudi military proxy groups in Aden, Southern Yemen, urging them to stop the conflict.

Iran Press/Middle East: In a statement on Thursday, the European Union Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini referred to the escalating tensions between UAE and Saudi military proxy groups, calling them to cease violence and to engage in dialogue immediately.

"The EU expects all parties to maintain their commitment to the UN-led process and engage with the UN Special Envoy in an inclusive and sustainable political process in order to end the conflict," added the statement.

The so-called 'Security Belt Forces', which is the military wing of the Southern Transitional Council related to UAE, clashed on Wednesday with the country's fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi guards, who are supported by Saudi Arabia in Aden.

At least three people were killed and nine injured in the clashes, local officials and residents told Reuters.

According to Alalam TV, fighting has resumed in Aden as major explosions rocked the city. The explosions have happened as a result of a continuing conflict between the 'Southern Transitional Council' troops and Mansur Hadi guards.
