Tehran (IP) - Deputy Minister of Health Alireza Raisi said that Iran's tally of coronavirus cases surpassed 17,000 on Wednesday and the number of fatalities rose to 1135.

Iran Press/Iran News: Speaking in a news conference, Raisi said the number of cases rose to 17,361 on Wednesday up from a previous tally of 16,169 cases on the day before.

He said that 1192 new cases of Coronavirus infection diagnosed during the past 24 hours and 147 more people died from the disease.

Deputy Minister of Health also said, “Out of the total number of patients, 5,710 people have recovered."

He then called on people to stay at home over the coming two weeks to fight better with the spread of coronavirus across Iran. 101
