Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that the overwhelming majority of transactions between Russia and China are now conducted in their national currencies, marking dedollarization as an "inevitable" trend.

Iran PressAsia: Putin shared this revelation during a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing on Thursday. This meeting, part of Putin's two-day state visit to China, underscores the deepening "no-limit relationship" between the two nations. The visit also marks Putin's first foreign trip since his resounding re-election victory in March.

Highlighting the robust cooperation between Russia and China, particularly in trade, Putin praised the shift to national currencies for transactions as a "powerful impetus" for expanding bilateral trade. He specified that 90% of all payments between Russia and China are now made in rubles and yuan.

"The process of dedollarization of the national and international economy is inevitable," Putin asserted.

President Xi Jinping welcomed Putin as an "old friend," affirming that the bond between their countries has withstood the test of time.
