Iran Press/ Europe: Ordibehesht 25 in the Iranian calendar, May 14, is the commemoration day of the Iranian great poet Hakim Abul-Qasem Ferdowsi.
Iran's Cultural Attache in Serbia, Amir Pourpezesk, said in the ceremony that Ferdowsi is the greatest literary figure of Iran, who revived the Persian language and the national identity of Iranians and Iranian history.
Yet, the Iranian envoy said that Ferdowsi belongs not just to Iranians and that his masterpiece Shahnameh is a universal work with strong literary, epic, artistic, and moral elements.
The ceremony was held in Belgrade with the cooperation of the Office of Iranian Cultural Attache, the office of Saadi Foundation in Serbia, and the Persian Studies Department of Belgrade University.
