Mashhad (IP) - Disinfection procedures in subway stations of Mashhad city in northeastern Iran are done twice a day following the outbreak of the Coronavirus in the country.

Iran PressIran news: Mashhad subway has two lines and 34 stations. 140,000 people use the Mashhad subway transportation network on a daily basis.

Public transportations and public places are disinfected daily across Iran over the coronavirus outbreak.

Disinfection operation of the metro system and buses in the capital city of Tehran is also done to prevent the coronavirus outbreak.

President Hassan Rouhani said on Thursday that the great nation of Iran has been through difficulties much tougher than what it is facing now, emphasizing the whole nation still stand together to defeat the coronavirus.

Head of Iranian Health Ministry's Public Relations Office said on Saturday that 123 people of those who had been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the country, have been discharged from the hospital.

The death toll from the COVID-19 disease, caused by the coronavirus outbreak, in Iran has risen to 43 with 593 confirmed cases.

About 84,000 people in at least 56 countries have been infected all over the world, and about 2,900 people have died of COVID-19.

The governor of Washington declared a state of emergency Saturday after a man died there of COVID-19, the first such reported death in the United States. More than 50 people in a nursing facility are sick and being tested for the virus.
