The Vice President of Iran for Parliamentary Affairs said that the detention of Iranian scientist Masoud Soleimani by the US is even in violation of US domestic laws.

Iran Press/Iran News: In an exclusive interview with Iran Press about the final efforts of Iran's government to release the Iranian scientist, Hossein Ali Amiri the Vice President of Iran for Parliamentary Affairs said: "Dr. Soleimani is one of our scientists who traveled to the United States with the legal authority required for academic, research, and scientific work."

"Masoud Soleimani is in a bad condition, her family is very upset and even her mother died after realizing her son's condition," the Vice President of Iran for Parliamentary Affairs highlighted said.

"The Government is pursuing diplomatic paths through the Foreign Ministry, the Vice President's Legal Assistant, and we hope that the US administration will respect domestic and international law. This was contrary to the basic principles of human rights that the US government has committed and has no legal and ethical justification for doing so," he noted.

Masoud Soleimani, full professor at Tehran's Tarbiat Modarres University and a prominent stem cell scientist has been in US prisons for about 11 months now for no good reasons.

The mother of the Iranian scientist after hearing about her son's arrest by the US security forces went into a coma seven months earlier, she ultimately died on September 3.
