Tehran (IP) - The foreign ministry spokesman, Seyyed Abbas Mousavi, has said the only way for Saudi Arabia and UAE to find a wise way out of the Yemen quagmire is for the Saudis to stop their attacks on Yemen, accept a ceasefire arrangement and reach a peace agreement with the Yemenis.

Iran Press /Iran News: The foreign ministry spokesman,  Seyyed Abbas Mousavi, speaking at a press conference in Tehran on Monday, emphasised that no negotiations will take place with Washington outside of the 5+1 Group format, and for negotiations to take place Washington has to lift all sanctions against Tehran and should re-join the Iran nuclear deal (JCPOA). Only then will there be negotiations between Tehran and Washington, as part of negotiations between Iran and the 5+1 Group.

Mousavi also emphasized that no negotiations took place between Iran and the US during the recent UN General Assembly meeting in New York.

Commenting further Mousavi said Iran will continue with its active diplomacy, as was the case in New York, and Tehran will continue with its diplomacy in relation to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Mousavi also criticized the European signatories to the JCPOA, by saying: "Even though the Europeans are major world powers they have to ask permission from Washington, and this is not good for Europe."
