Tehran (IP): The deputy head of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI) said earlier that more than 30 member states of the African Union are attending the 2nd Iran-Africa International Summit, which is being held in Tehran on Friday, April 26.

Iran Press/Iran news: Deputy TPOI Chief for International Businesses Promotion Affairs Mohammad Sadeq Qannadzadeh stated that Iran and African states have great potentials that should be introduced for strengthening cooperation in the trade and economic fields.

Given the high specialty and capability of Iranian companies in the oil, gas, and petrochemical fields, African companies will attend the summit to conduct expert-level negotiations in these fields, Qannadzadeh added.

High-profile officials including ministers of economy from over 30 African countries will take part in this international event.

The 2nd Iran-Africa International Summit is regarded as an opportunity to help develop the export of goods and technical and engineering services.

Iran can cooperate with African countries in various fields, including agriculture, extraterritorial cultivation, importing raw materials for production, etc, he emphasized.

Speaking as the keynote speaker at the 2nd Iran-Africa Summit on Friday morning, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi stressed that since the early days of the victory of the Islamic revolution establishing relations and cooperation with Africa were emphasized by Late Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran and it is also stressed by Supreme Leader as well.

Iranian President said that the West wants Africa for its interest but Iran wants Africa for the sake of Africa itself.

President Raisi further stressed: "West is pursuing its interests in Africa. West wants Africa for its own sake but we want Africa for the Sake of Africa itself. However, the Westerners want to loot Africa and this is well known through historical events."

The Iranian president said that the 2nd Iran-Africa Summit is a symbol of the will of African countries and Iran to expand economic relations.

Iranian president Ebrahim Raisi considered the first step between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the African continent to be the will of the two countries to develop relations and said: " It is necessary to have a detailed plan for both the entire African continent and each of the African countries so that African countries will be identified with the timeline. The first step between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the African continent is the will, thank God this will exist and this meeting is a symbol of the will of African countries and Iran to expand economic relations."

President Raisi then listed the second step as recognizing the capacities of the African continent and the Islamic Republic of Iran and stated: "Sometimes some economic activists are not fully familiar with the capacities in between and holding this conference will help to better understand the mutual capacities."

Elsewhere, the President pointed out that despite the threats and sanctions, the Islamic Republic of Iran has made good progress and it can be called an advanced and technological country.

"It is very important to get to know the progress and reach of the Islamic Republic of Iran to new technologies.", he added.

Pointing out that there is efficient manpower in Africa, the President said: "We believe, although Westerners advertise that they can achieve new technology and creativity, we believe that the talent, knowledge, and ability of Africa are not lacking anything from the West and can achieve many fields.
