The US Presidents threatened to end funding the World Health Organization as his country is struggling to fight with coronavirus pandemic.

Iran PressAmerica: The US President Donald Trump criticized the World Health Organization on Tuesday for getting “every aspect” of the coronavirus pandemic wrong and threatened that the US will end funding the premier health organization.

“They did give us some pretty bad play calling ... with regard to us, they’re taking a lot of heat because they didn’t want the borders closed, they called it wrong. They really called, I would say, every aspect of it wrong,” Trump said at a White House press conference Tuesday, as reported by CNBC.

Trump then said he is considering to stop financial aids to the WHO, saying the international agency pushed back on his travel ban from China early in the COVID-19 outbreak.

“We’re going to put a hold on money spent to the WHO,” Trump said. “We will look at ending funding because you know what, they called it wrong.”

Trump tried to denounce the WHO to clean the failures which have been leveled at him and his administration. The New York Times reported that American public health experts had said the president’s public denials of the virus’s dangers slowed the American response, which included delayed testing and a failure to stockpile protective gear.

In the U.S., there are now more than 400,000 cases of coronavirus and the number of confirmed deaths has exceeded 12,800, according to the latest figures.
