(IP)- The Iran House of Innovation and Tech (iHiT) was inaugurated in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, with the presence of the Vice President for Science, Technology, and Knowledge-Based Companies of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Minister of Science, Higher Education and Innovation of Uzbekistan.

Iran PressIran News: Since the victory of the Islamic Revolution, Iran has made significant progress in various scientific fields, ranking among the top countries in the world for technological advancement. Despite imposed sanctions on Iran, Western countries acknowledge its progress as it currently produces 2% of the world's science.

The iHiT aims to introduce Iranian knowledge-based products to the Uzbekistan market, facilitate knowledge interactions, and promote cooperation between Iranian and Uzbek products.

The 400 square meter space includes a shared workspace, meeting and negotiation rooms, and companies. With the launch of iHiT's activities, a $10 million technological cooperation agreement was signed between Iran and Uzbekistan in the field of energy.

During a video conference, Rouhollah Dehghani Firouzabadi, Vice President of Science, Technology, and Knowledge-Based Economy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, met with Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov, Minister of Science, Higher Education, and Innovation of Uzbekistan.

The two officials discussed the historical ties between their countries as a catalyst for cooperation in developing knowledge-based economies.

Abdurakhmonov highlighted the progress made in scientific and technological cooperation and knowledge-based companies during Uzbekistan's president's visit to Iran. He also noted that advanced technologies such as energy, artificial intelligence, information, and communications, as well as areas like agriculture, tourism, and climate, are potential fields for collaboration between Uzbekistan and Iran.
