Iran Press/ Europe: According to the General Department of Information and Spokesperson Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ali Asghar Khaji, the Iranian foreign minister’s senior advisor for political affairs, who has traveled to Moscow at the head of a delegation, met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Vershinin, on Wednesday evening, while expressing his satisfaction over the level of bilateral partners, he examined the ways of expanding these partners to solve humanitarian problems and establish international peace and security.
Iran's senior advisor on special political affairs also discussed the latest developments in Syria, Yemen, and Libya in a meeting with "Mikhail Bogdanov", the special representative of the Russian President in the Middle East and North Africa.
The two sides emphasized the need to resolve Syrian issues and problems through political solutions and dialogue and voiced their support for Syria- Türkiye negotiations within the framework of the four-way meetings between Syria, Türkiye, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Russia.
Iran and Russia share strategic interests in bilateral fields, especially economic, military, and security relations, as well as regional and international issues such as confronting American unilateralism, and this has been one of the main factors of close cooperation between the two sides in recent years.
