In a meeting with the Secretary General of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia(CICA), the Iranian Foreign Minister announced his readiness to hold the meeting of CICA Foreign Ministers in Tehran.

On Tuesday, on the sidelines of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) foreign ministers' meeting, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian met with Kairat Sarybay, Secretary General of the Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia(CICA).

In this meeting, Amir-Abdollahian added: "The Islamic Republic of Iran attaches special importance to the CICA organization, and the presence of the Islamic President of Iran at the Astana Summit and his support for the this organization's approvals indicate the growth of mutual cooperation."

Amir-Abdollahian also announced the readiness of the Islamic Republic of Iran to host the meeting of the foreign ministers of the CICA members within the next three months.

Kairat Sarybay, Secretary General of the Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia(CICA) emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran is one of the important members of the organization and has a constructive participation in the decision-making processes of the organization. 

Sarybay added that the Secretariat of SCICA evaluates the proposal of hosting the meeting of foreign ministers in Tehran as an important step and supports this issue with a positive view.

The meeting of ECO foreign ministers started on Tuesday, hosted by Tashkent, Uzbekistan; Hossein AmirAbdollahian arrived in Tashkent last night (Monday) to attend this meeting.

Ministers and representatives of member countries including Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Iran, and Uzbekistan are present at the meeting of ECO foreign ministers.

The ECO Foreign Ministers' Meeting is held once a year with the presence of the member countries hosted by one of the member states.

According to the constitution of this organization, ECO strives to improve the conditions of sustainable economic development of member countries and works to gradually remove trade barriers in this region. Another goal of ECO is to prepare a joint program for the development of human resources in these 10 countries. 219
