Tehran (IP)- Iranian Foreign Minister in a speech at the First International Congress for Women of Influence in Tehran said that we are seriously opposed to war and the Islamic Republic will do the best of its ability to establish a ceasefire and peace in Ukraine.

Iran PressIran News: Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said: "Far from a double standard policy, as Iran is also concerned about the situation of women and children in Palestine, Yemen, and other war-torn countries, it is also concerned about the situation of Ukrainian women and children."

He expressed hope that a ceasefire and peace will be established in that region as soon as possible.

Amir-Abdollahian said: "In the past weeks, some western officials tried to expel the Islamic Republic from the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women depriving Iran's membership will have no effect on our special focus on promoting the position of women in political and social activities."
