Iran Press/ Iran news: November 30 has been named Nurse Day in Iran to honor Lady Zeinab (AS), the sister of the third Imam of the Shia, Imam Hussain (AS).
After the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (AS) in Karbala by the then-tyrant Yazid's order, the family of Imam and his companions' families, almost all of them women and children, were taken captives by Yazid's troops.
During the captivity period, Lady Zeinab (AS) took care of the captured motherly; she protected the children from being beaten by the tyrant's troops by surviving the beats.
November 26 to December 2 has been named Nurse Week in Iran. This year's Nurse Week motto is: "Elevation of People's Health, Improvement of Services, Removal of Obstacle to Servicing."
The Iranian nurses' sacrifice always has been exemplary, mainly in their endeavors during the coronavirus pandemic.
In Iran, 300 nurses and physicians sacrificed their lives to protect the lives of the people.
