Iran Press/ Iran News: Political Deputy Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ali Bagheri-Kani, in a meeting with Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Mnatsakan Safaryan in Tehran, said that ensuring the all-round expansion of cooperation between Tehran and Yerevan to the benefit of the two nations and in line with strengthening stability and security in the South Caucasus region.
Bagheri-Kani announced Iran's strong will to further expand cooperation with Armenia.
Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Mnatsakan Safaryan also announced his country's readiness to develop cooperation between the two sides, especially in the economic and commercial fields, and expressed hope that the relations between the two countries will continue to grow.
Safaryan, visiting Iran, also met with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian in Tehran on Sunday.
Amir-Abdollahian expressed satisfaction over the growing ties between the two friendly and neighboring countries, noting that the opening of the Islamic Republic of Iran's consulate general office in Kapan, Armenia, was a significant practical step taken by the two nations to deepen their economic ties and move closer to a promising future.
For his part, the deputy foreign minister of Armenia told Amir-Abdollahian that his recent visit to Armenia, coupled with the establishment of the Iranian Consulate General in Kapan marks a milestone in bilateral ties.
Safaryan also praised the Islamic Republic for taking a fundamentally positive position on the sovereignty of the regional states and the inviolability of their international borders.
He stressed the availability of the necessary infrastructure and capacities for the ongoing development of economic links, adding that the implementation of the agreements would depend on cooperation and adherence.
