Iran Press/ Iran News: Speaking on Monday morning in a meeting with Salman Al Farisi, the Secretary General of the Indian Ocean Rim Association, Ebrahim Raisi pointed out the considerable capacity of the member states of this association and emphasised planning for greater convergence of its members to increase the use of these capacities.
Referring to the significant population of this geographical area and the existing capacities in this region, the President considered it important to strengthen the communication and interactions of the countries bordering the Indian Ocean, and emphasised, "Effective cooperation with regional organisations is the priority of our foreign policy and the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to share its considerable potentials with the member states of this association."
Raisi emphasised the need to take advantage of the capabilities of women in various parts of the Association and added, "In the years after the Islamic Revolution, women have achieved many successes in social, scientific, cultural and health fields in Iran, which can be an example and model of effective presence of women in the society."
Stating that the Islamic Republic of Iran has had a good participation in the Indian Ocean Rim Association in different periods, the President said, "Effective cooperation with regional organisations is the priority of our foreign policy."
In this meeting, Salman Al Farisi, the Secretary General of the Indian Ocean Rim Association, expressed his satisfaction with his trip to Iran and meeting with the President, and said, "Iran is an active and effective member of the Association, and especially the term of Iran's presidency of the Secretariat of this Union is very significant and honourable/."
Appreciating Iran's effective role in chairing the Women's Empowerment in the Indian Ocean Rim Association, he added, "The Islamic Republic has also provided effective measures and remarkable services in the Knowledge and Technology Association."
