Today (Friday), Shia Muslims in Iran and around the world observe the birthday anniversaries of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and Imam Jafar al-Sadiq (AS), as the country has started to celebrate Islamic Unity Week from October 9, 2022.

Iran PressIran news: Shia Muslims along with other Sunnis celebrate the birthday anniversary of the Holy Prophet of Islam (PBUH) as well as Imam Jafar al-Sadiq (AS) on the 17th lunar month of Rabi' al-Awwal, and it is an official holiday in Iran, India, Pakistan, and Egypt. 

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was born in about 570 AD in Mecca. He was granted to be the final prophet by Allah at the age of 40.

Jafar b. Muḥammad b. Alī b. al-Husayn, known as Imam al-Sadiq (AS), is the sixth Imam of Shia Muslims.
