Lebanon (IP) - The Deputy Secretary-General of Lebanon's Hezbollah stressed the formation of the new cabinet before the country's presidential election.

Iran PressMiddle East: In a tweet on Monday, Sheikh Naeem Qassim said: "As the Hezbollah movement our position is that the cabinet should be formed before the presidential elections, even if there are a few days left."

He stressed the importance of the issue and said that the first task of the cabinet is to save Lebanon from the political chaos that may occur during the presidential elections. 

Also, with regard to the presidential election, Sheikh Naeem Qassim said there were two candidates, one who was seeking to impose his US-oriented views on Lebanon and one who enjoyed national insight and flexibility to solve the country's problems through dialogue.

The first session of the Lebanese parliament to elect the president was held on September 29, but none of the candidates could win two-thirds of the votes.

Out of 128 lawmakers, 122 took part in voting. 

The Lebanese presidential election is pending to elect the president of Lebanon following the expiration of incumbent Michel Aoun's mandate on 31 October 2022.
