Middle East(IP)- The Emir of Qatar and the Chancellor of Germany emphasized the importance of supporting the efforts to reach an agreement with the Islamic Republic of Iran within the framework of the sanctions-lifting negotiations in Vienna.

Iran PressMiddle East: According to Iran Press on Monday, quoted by El Nashra news website, the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, said in a joint press conference with the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz: "I discussed regional and international issues with Olaf Schultz and emphasized solving problems through dialogue and diplomacy."

Emir of Qatar added: "We agreed with the Chancellor of Germany on the importance of supporting efforts to reach an agreement with Iran regarding this country's nuclear program, and reaching an agreement with Iran will contribute to security and stability in the region."

He also said about the global energy crisis that to meet the global need, the country of Qatar has been planning to develop the northern gas field for years.

The Emir of Qatar also pointed out that his country, together with Germany, emphasize the importance of supporting the political process in Libya and reaching an agreement to hold elections in this country based on the constitution.

He also addressed the situation in Afghanistan and said that this country needs a standard international policy to create a road map.

On Sunday in Abu Dhabi, Olaf Scholtz announced the progress of the negotiations for producing and purchasing gas and gas oil in the talks with the Persian Gulf countries.

Recalling Berlin's investment in creating infrastructure for gas import, he expressed hope that these infrastructures will reach the operational stage by next year.

The German chancellor expressed hope that the increase in liquid gas production in the world could compensate for the decrease in supply caused by the war in Ukraine.

Earlier, referring to the energy crisis in Europe and especially Germany after the start of the Ukraine war, the AFP news agency had stated that the purpose of Scholtz's trip to the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf was to diversify the country's energy resources.
