Iran Press/ America: Hossein Amir-Abdollahian accompanied President Ebrahim Raisi during his visit to New York to attend the 77th UN General Assembly; New York met counterparts from different countries.
Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and his Brazilian counterpart Carlos Alberto Franco França met and consulted on mutual relations and regional developments.
The meetings were held on the sidelines of the 77th UN General Assembly summit in New York.
Iranian Foreign Minister, as part of his back-to-back meetings with foreign ministers and officials present at the 77th meeting of the UN General Assembly in New York, held talks with Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg and his accompanying delegation.
Amir-Abdollahian touched on the history of diplomatic ties between Iran and Austria and the constructive role of the country in the Vienna talks and reiterated Iran's will and determination for the further development of bilateral relations.
Iranian foreign minister also outlined the two countries' potential in economic, trade, cultural, and parliamentary ties and underlined Tehran's readiness to draw up a roadmap for relations.
The Austrian foreign minister also underscored the willingness of Austrian companies to operate in new markets in the West Asia region, including those in Iran, and said his country is prepared to take part in drawing up a roadmap to speed up cooperation.
He also welcomed Iran's initiatives in the Vienna negotiations and continued diplomatic contacts and described an agreement with the P5+1 as within reach.
The Austrian foreign minister also expressed his country's readiness to play a constructive role in resolving the remaining issues with the International Atomic Energy Agency in line with efforts to conclude the Vienna talks.
Amir-Abdollahian, during the meetings with his European counterparts, discussed the role of the European Union countries in the JCPOA.
Foreign Ministers of Iran and Belgium meet
Amir-Abdollahian, who is in New York to participate in the United Nations General Assembly, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belgium, Hadja Lahbib, on Friday evening.
In the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran emphasized Iran's readiness to finalize some basic bilateral cooperation documents between Iran and Belgium, including the maritime transport agreement, avoiding double taxation, and supporting mutual investment.
Amir-Abdollahian criticized the dual approach of Western countries towards human rights and its selective practices.
The parties also exchanged views on judicial and consular cooperation and emphasized consular coverage to protect the citizens of the two countries according to international conventions and documents.
No restrictions on expanding ties with Jordan
In a meeting with his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi in New York, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian enumerated the common elements in the sound and fraternal relations between the two countries and declared the development of relations with regional and neighboring countries as the priority of Iran's foreign policy.
He also expressed support for the Palestinian people and said that Iran's experiences dealing with terrorist groups serve the interests of Muslim nations.
The Jordanian foreign minister, for his part, said that the Islamic world is witnessing some challenges that must be resolved through dialogue.
Safadi stated that the dialogue between the region's countries leads to the benefit of the Muslim region's countries to strengthen relations between the regional governments.
He added that senior officials of Jordan always want to expand relations with Muslim countries in the region, including the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Vienna deal possible if US shows determination: Iran FM
Amir-Abdollahian, in a meeting with his Norwegian counterpart Anniken Huitfeldt in New York, has underscored that an agreement on the revival of the 2015 nuclear deal is achievable if the United States shows seriousness.
As to the talks in Vienna, Austria, to lift anti-Iran sanctions and revive the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), he explained that the Islamic Republic of Iran's stances on resolving differences in this respect, adding that an agreement would be achievable if the US showed determination, which was needed to reach consensus.
He went on to say that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) should act based on its technical duties and responsibilities, and it should take distance from adopting a political attitude and double standards when it comes to the Iranian peaceful nuclear program.
The two foreign ministers discussed issues of mutual interests, including the latest bilateral, regional, and international developments.
For her part, the Norwegian foreign minister emphasized the importance of bilateral cooperation.
She further noted that her country is keen on seeing the JCPOA issue be solved as soon as possible and mutual ties expanded immediately.
Iranian FM met the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan in New York.
In the meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in New York, the two top diplomats exchanged views on the latest developments in bilateral relations and the Caucasus region.
