Tehran (IP)- In a telephone conversation with the Governor-General of Fars Province, while following up on the flood incident, Iran's president was informed about the latest details and information of the search operation for the missing persons.

Iran PressIran News: In a phone call with Mohammad Hadi Imanieh, Iran's president Ebrahim Raisi emphasized the quick handling of possible negligence and ordered the Governor-General of Fars Province to use the capacity of all national and local institutions to find the missing and relieve the pain of the victims of the Estahban flood.

In the call, while expressing his sympathy for the victims of the accident, the President emphasized mobilizing all the available capacities to find the missing flood victims and take care of the affairs of the victims' families.

On the evening of July 22, heavy rain in Estahban caused the Rodbal River to overflow and flood, and as a result of which, 20 people died.

Based on what was announced earlier, with the discovery of the bodies of two more people, the body of another missing person has not yet been found, and one person was missing.

15 of the 21 bodies discovered have been identified.

Estahban is located at a distance of 174 km from Iran's Shiraz.

A weather system causing heavy rain is covering Iran’s south and several Arab countries of the Persian Gulf.

In 2019, heavy floods in the south left at least 76 people dead and caused damages estimated at more than $2 billion.
