Powerful winds from Typhoon Peipah tore through Shizuoka Prefecture on Friday, September 5, leaving a trail of destruction that damaged over 220 buildings and injured 23 people. The strong winds swept four municipalities, with Yoshida Town and Makinohara City hardest hit. Makinohara officials confirmed three critical injuries and 20 minor ones.
