Tehran (IP) - The CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company says the oil production capacity in the country has reached the level before the sanctions and that Iran ranks first in the world in terms of oil and gas reserves.

Therefore, the indigenization of equipment has always been a concern of the Iranian oil industry, and after 43 years following the victory of the Islamic Revolution, this industry has reached 85% self-sufficiency in manufacturing equipment required by the oil, gas and petrochemical industry.

Mohsen Khojasteh-Mehr, CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company, noting that Iran has over 1,200 billion barrels of crude oil equivalent underground, added that Iran ranks first in the world in terms of oil and gas, which is an economic authority and among the components of economic power and authority of the country.

Khojasteh-Mehr stated that Iran's extractable oil reserves based on the recovery factor were about 157 billion barrels and Iran's gas reserves were about 33 trillion cubic meters, but in terms of oil and gas was about 330 trillion cubic meters.
