Tehran (IP) - The Iranian artists, as the winners of the first International Nezami Ganjavi Award, received the UNESCO High Medal in honor of their works.

Iran PressIran News: The ceremony in honor of Hakim Nezami Ganjavi was held in the presence of cultural and artistic figures in Tehran's Vahdat Hall, and the UNESCO High Prize was awarded to the ten winners of this cultural event.

The first International Nezami Ganjavi Award includes literature, studies on Nezami Ganjavi and his works, calligraphy, painting, performing arts, popular culture, and music, hosted by the National Commission for UNESCO-Iran.

Kourosh Asadpour, an artist from Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province of Iran, was awarded the UNESCO High Medal for his Iranian poet on Thursday evening.

Asadpour was also a local singer, songwriter, and cultural activist that received the award in the music section of the event. In his artistic life, he has played a major role in promoting and introducing the teachings and achievements of Hakim Nezami Ganjavi.

March 12 is known as Hakim Nezami day in Iran. 

Awards also went to other Iranian artists in calligraphy, theater, painting, translation, literature research studies, linguistic research studies, and music.
