Tehran (IP) - The Chief Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) called revenge against the perpetrators of General Qassem Soleimani's assassination a strategy and ideal.

Iran PressIran news: Major General Hossein Salami, commander of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), said: "The assassination of the commander of the IRGC Quds Force not only did not disrupt his path but also created an energy in the hearts that calls on the whole Islamic world to stir up jihad against the arrogant occupation."

Pointing out that with the struggle of Soleimani, Palestine became a resilient, brilliant and powerful identity, General Salami added: "The Battle of Saif al-Quds, the last war between the Palestinians and the Zionists, showed that a new Palestine had emerged. It was General Soleimani who played a role in transforming the spirit of jihad in the Palestinians into a power structure."

Emphasizing that today's situation shows that Martyr Soleimani is more dangerous to the enemy than General Soleimani, the IRGC chief commander said: "When Soleimani was alive, we knew just one General Soleimani; But when he was martyred, he became millions of Soleimanis, all of whom are now talking about revenge."

Lieutenant General Soleimani, the commander of the Quds Force of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), and Iraq's Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) deputy head Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis were assassinated along with their companions in a US drone strike authorized by former President Donald Trump near Baghdad International Airport on January 3, 2020.

They were highly popular because of their key role in eliminating the US-backed ISIS terrorist group in the region, particularly in Iraq and Syria.

General Qassem Soleimani was assassinated by the US while he was in Baghdad at the official invitation of the Iraqi government.
