Iran sees drop in COVID-19 death case after 22 months: 19 in 24hrs

Tehran(IP) - Iran's Health Ministry announced on Friday that only 19 death cases due to COVID-19 had been registered during the past 24 hours, after 22 months, with no death report in 22 provinces.

Iran PressIran News: According to definitive laboratory findings from yesterday to January 07, 2022, a total number of 6,204,224 people in the country have contracted COVID-19, and 6,048,957of infected people recovered.

Newly diagnosed patients with COVID-19 were 1,178 cases, of whom 245 patients were hospitalized.

After 22 months, the daily mortality of COVID-19 patients dropped to less than 20. The last time on March 7, 2019, the number of daily deaths was less than 20 and equivalent to 17 people.

Last night in 22 provinces of Iran, no case of death of COVID-19 patients was recorded, and in 4 provinces, only one case of death was reported.

2,060 COVID-19 patients are in intensive care units (ICU).

So far 42,661,568 COVID-19 diagnosis tests have been conducted across Iran.

So far, 60,032,419 people have received the first dose of the COVID vaccine, 52,444,380 have received the second dose, 9,505,625 have received the third dose, and the total number of vaccines injected in the country reached 121,982,424 doses.
