Iran Press/ Iran news: According to the Red Crescent Society, "Mehrab Sharifi Sedeh" met with "Martin Fisher," Operations Manager of International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) in Iran on Tuesday and stressed the need to increase public awareness to promote resilience in disasters.
Iran's Deputy Minister of Education, Research and Technology added: "The issue of climate change, especially drought, can cause severe problems for national populations, and the best thing to do is to raise the awareness of communities to increase resilience because only resilient communities can resist these problems."
Martin Fisher also praised the Red Crescent's various training activities on multiple hazards and called for more cooperation in research projects on drought and its consequences.
It was also decided to hold more meetings to draw up operational plans to prevent hazards, given the scope of activities in various fields.
