Tehran (IP): Iran's foreign minister said Tehran and Ankara would soon sign a cooperation road map.

Iran PressIran News: Attending a press conference after meeting Turkey's foreign minister, Mevlut Cavusoglu, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, stated that effective negotiations were held to develop a new road map and long-term cooperation between Iran and Turkey.

Iran's foreign minister went on to say that we also discussed regional and international issues, and Afghanistan was one of them.

He added that creating peace and security in the west of Asia and emphasizing the neighborhood between Iran and Turkey was also discussed.

The two countries also discussed bilateral investment, possible private sector investment opportunities, and effective ways of lifting trade barriers between Iran and Turkey.

Iran and Turkey have historical and friendly relations, which are emphasized, noted the minister.

Expanding cooperation in trade, energy transit, and lifting barriers to accelerate this cooperation were also revised, highlighted Amir-Abdollahian.

Unilateral Sanctions against Iran must be lifted: Turkey's FM

Turkey's Foreign Minister said that sanctions against Iran must be lifted, adding that those who left the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action(JCPOA) must return to it.

Attending a joint press conference with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu expressed his condolences to the Iranian people due to the earthquake in Hormozgan province, adding that Turkey would always stand by Iran.

Referring to Iran and Turkey's cooperation road map, he added that hopefully, this document would be signed on the sidelines of the Seventh meeting of the Supreme Council of Cooperation between the two countries.

Expressing worrisome about the situation in Afghanistan, he said that forming an inclusive government is the solution.

Çavuşoğlu also expressed Turkey's readiness to cooperate with Iran about Afghanistan.
