Iranian Foreign Minister (R) And Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation

Tehran (IP)- Iranian Foreign Minister said that ISIL is carrying out terrorist acts in Afghanistan to sow the seeds of discord among different religions.

Iran PressIran news: In a telephone conversation with Yousef bin Ahmad Al-Othaimeen, Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation(OIC), the Iranian Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian called extremist currents one of the region's most important problems and stressed Iran's support for a more active role in Afghanistan.

Referring to the recent terrorist and criminal acts of ISIL in attacking worshipers in two mosques in Kunduz and Kandahar, the Foreign Minister called for the Secretary-General and the OIC members to condemn these inhumane acts.

The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation also stressed the inclusiveness of the new government in Afghanistan, respect for human and women's rights, solidarity with the Afghan people, and the need to ensure that Afghanistan does not become a haven for terrorist groups.

Al-Othaimeen expressed hope that the current contacts and negotiations between Tehran and Riyadh will bring positive results for both countries.
