Commentary:

Tehran(IP)- The speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan called for synergy between Tehran and Islamabad on regional issues.

Iran Presscommentary: During a meeting with the parliamentary delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Asad Qaisar considered the opening of a new border crossing between the two countries to facilitate and streamline trade and commute of people on both sides of the border and expressed satisfaction with the improvement of people's livelihoods.

Iran and Pakistan have about one thousand kilometers of a common border and have always had growing relations. The two countries are not only neighbors but also important members of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). The deep cultural, and religious proximity and eloquent status of the Persian language in Pakistan have made the people of this country want to develop bilateral cooperation with Iran in various dimensions, including trade and tourism.

Assessing Iran-Pakistan relations, Hossein Mohammadi, an analyst on regional issues, says: "Iran and Pakistan, having the potential for convergence and despite a population of about two hundred and eighty million people, have many potentials for the development of bilateral cooperation that needs to be further identified."

At the same time, the issue of synergy between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Pakistan, which was emphasized by the speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan, is a very important and strategic issue that requires a deeper understanding of bilateral relations and trade and economic issues.

This means that the relations between Tehran and Islamabad in strategic dimensions should be regulated taking into account the collective and public interests in the region.

Among the issues that are raised and emphasized in this regard are security issues, such as countering terrorism and helping to solve regional problems, especially the Afghan crisis.

If all the countries of the region formulate their policies by abandoning the policies of unilateralism and taking into account the regional realities and the necessity of regional unity and coalition around collective interests, not only will lasting security be established in the region but also foreigners will not dare to interfere in the affairs of the region.

Pir-Mohammad Mollazehi, a political expert in Tehran, believes that Iran-Pakistan relations are based on bilateral issues, regional conditions, and international orientations, which are two important issues, first, border issues, including the activities of terrorist groups and drug trafficking on the common borders, and second, issues related to the Afghan crisis which in recent days, its solution requires more regional cooperation.

Iran, Pakistan stress Islamic unity against common challenges

The head of Iran-Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship Group of the Iranian Parliament, Ahmad Amirabadi-Farahani and the Vice Speaker of the Pakistani Parliament Qasim Khan Suri exchanged views on relations between Iran and Pakistan, interactions between the two countries' Parliaments, economic and border cooperation, and especially the security developments in the region.

Amirabadi-Farahani said: "The world's arrogant powers, namely the United States and the Israeli regime, are powerless against the unity of Muslims, but any differences and divisions will lead to the success of the enemies and global arrogant powers to harm the Islamic world."

He said Iran spared no efforts to help the world's oppressed nations, especially the Muslims, from Palestine, Yemen, Iraq, to Kashmir.

In any case, the Islamic Republic of Iran has always shown its goodwill to help solve the problems of the region through consensus and collective cooperation.

From Tehran's point of view, regional issues and problems can be solved only through regional cooperation, but the fact that some certain countries want to align other countries with their own interests regarding the regional issues, including Afghanistan, without considering regional collective interests alone, cannot be a solid basis for convergence.

Hence, regional issues and sustainable security prevail in the region when countries distance themselves from the slogan and put practical measures on their agenda, and do not allow foreign intervention to complicate the situation and crisis.
