Chief of general staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran met with Pakistan's chief of naval staff to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation.

Iran PressAsia: Major-General Mohammad Bagheri and Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi exchanged views on issues of mutual interest, the latest state of fraternal relations between Iran and Pakistan, including the level of cooperation between the two countries' navies.

The two sides discussed maritime security in the region and a wide range of other security developments.

In the past two days, Major-General Bagheri had met and consulted with Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan, Chief of the Army Staff of Pakistan Army General Qamar Javed Bajwa, and Pakistan's Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), General Nadeem Raza.

In these meetings, issues related to the development of security on the shared borders of Iran and Pakistan, regional peace and stability, and the need for consensus for the return of peace and security in Afghanistan were discussed. Finding solutions to the problems of the Islamic world, including Afghanistan and Yemen, was also emphasized.

The Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran Major-General Mohammad Bagheri arrived in Islamabad on Tuesday evening at the head of a high-ranking military delegation to expand cooperation with Pakistan.
