Baghdad (IP): The Iraqi Prime Minister, while calling for a high turnout in the Parliamentary elections, which is to be held on October 10th, asked people to vote for the most competent person.

Iran PressMiddle East: On the occasion of the second anniversary of the October 2019 protests, Mustafa Al-Kazemi wrote on his Tweeter account that the second anniversary of the October protests in which protesters' demands was reformations and fighting against corruption is on the run. "Today the countdown has started for attending in the snap elections. One of the main pillars of the protests has begun."

Al-Kazemi called for a better future for Iraq, stressing: "We now have options to choose the most appropriate and transparent people to represent the people."

On Friday, hundreds of Iraqi demonstrators celebrated the second anniversary of widespread popular protests known as the "October Uprising" in Baghdad, the Iraqi capital.

Popular protests in Tishrin began in early October 2019 against political leaders accused of corruption and protesters called for a change in the political system.

The protests led to the resignation of the previous government headed by Adel Abdul Mahdi in late 2019 and the passage of new election law in the Iraqi parliament.
