Iran's Foreign Minister condemned US sanctions against Nicaragua and expressed Tehran's readiness to cooperate more in countering the sanctions.

Iran PressAmerica: Following his meetings on the sidelines of the 76th General Assembly of the United Nations, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian met with Nicaraguan Foreign Minister Dennis Moncada on Thursday to discuss bilateral relations.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Nicaraguan Foreign Minister thanked Iran for its support and expressed readiness for extensive cooperation in various fields.

The Nicaraguan foreign minister also called for a joint commission to be set up as soon as possible. Amir-Abdullahian also stressed the need to expand trade between the two countries, including exports of urea, gas, petrochemicals, and medicine to Nicaragua.
