Iran Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Zahra Ershadi

New York (IP) – Iran's envoy to the United Nations condemned the Israeli regime's crimes against the Palestinians in the strongest tone and reaffirms Tehran's support for the Palestinian cause and full realization of their rights.

Iran PressAmerica: Iran's Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Zahra Ershadi, At a Security Council meeting for developments in the Middle East, announced Iran's support for Palestinian people rights including self-determination for their future and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with the holy Quds as its capital.

She noted that since the previous Security Council meeting, the situation in Palestine has deteriorated due to the illegal policies and brutal actions of the Israeli regime, including desecration of Al-Aqsa Mosque, confiscation, destruction, and occupation of Palestinian homes, as well as killing and wounding of thousands of Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

"For instance, in the brutal,11-day war in Gaza in May 2021 alone, Israeli forces killed 256 Palestinians, including 66 children and 40 women; 13 of them were family members, including a six-month-old child, who were trapped in the rubble," Ershadi reminded.

She pointed out that the Israeli regime systematically and grossly continues to violate children's rights.

Ershadi also referred to the continuing destabilizing actions and military adventure of the Israeli regime in the region, a clear example of the violation of international law, in particular Article 2 of the UN Charter.
