Tehran (IP) - The President of the Cuban Finlay Institute of Vaccines says that Iran-Cuba co-produced vaccine has also been used for scientific purposes in other countries.

Iran PressIran news: "Cuba has scientific partners in other countries, including Italy, France and China," Vicente Vérez Bencomo added in response to a question from Iran Press about whether Cuba had international cooperation with other countries in the field of coronavirus vaccine production other than Iran.

Bencomo stated that the scientific opinions of researchers in Italy, France, and China also were incorporated in the production of the Iran-Cuba coronavirus vaccine.

The Cuban Finlay Institute of Vaccines President pointed out that the co-produced vaccine is the first chemistry-based vaccine produced under the same framework used to produce the pneumonia vaccine.

It took 15 years to develop the platform for the pneumonia vaccine, he concluded.
