Pres. Rouhani:

Tehran (IP) – Iranian president said people's turnout in the elections showed that the US is on the wrong track and cannot separate the Iranian people from the ballot boxes and the Islamic Republic.

Iran PressIran News: Speaking at the cabinet meeting on Wednesday, Hassan Rouhani stated that one of the honors of the Islamic Republic of Iran is that the people came to the polls during bombardments in the imposed war.

Rouhani glorified the auspicious birth anniversary of the 8th Shia Imam, Imam Reza (AS) as well.

He underlined: "The high turnout in the Presidential Election on June 18, 2021 is a slap in the face of those who speak out against the Islamic Republic of Iran and say that the country is not democratic and the people have no role in the country."

"People come to ballot boxes, and the votes are decisive," he added.

He noted: "Undoubtedly, people had a hard time; they were in an economic war, and yet they came to the polling stations."

He quoted that the Iranian nation did a great job, saying: "We should all help the elected administration."
