Damascus (IP): The Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran, in a meeting and consultation with the Syrian authorities, emphasized strengthening the economic relations between the two countries.

Iran PressMiddle East: Mohammad Eslami, the Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran, who has traveled to Damascus held a meeting with the Minister of Local Trade and Consumer Protection Talal Barazi and Zouhair Khazim, the Syrian Minister of Transport.

Regarding economic relations with Syria, the Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development said: "We will review what we have agreed on in the past, and we will make the necessary decisions."

The Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development also consulted with the Syrian Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade on the framework of the roadmap for joint cooperation for the future.

"We signed a long-term strategic economic cooperation agreement in 2019 and today we intend to take a serious step towards the implementation of the provisions of this agreement," said the Syrian Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade Mohammad Samer al-​Khalil.

The two sides stressed the need to use the capabilities of the two countries' private sectors, coordination in the field of finance and transportation to create a real leap in the path of economic cooperation between Iran and Syria.

Iran's Minister of Roads and Urban Development arrived in Damascus on Tuesday evening at the head of the senior economic delegation and was welcomed by the Syrian Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade Samer Al-Khalil.
