Tehran (IP) - The leader of the Islamic Revolution has underlined that disappointing people with aim of not participating in the presidential election is the will of the enemies of the Iranian nation.

Iran PressIran news: delivering a speech on the anniversary of the demise of Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei emphasized: "We are in election days, fortunately, the election environment is heating up. But some people want to give up the duty of participating in the elections under false pretenses, which is the will of the enemies of the Iranian nation. Both pillars must be seen in full; democratic and Islamic pillars. We will be slapped if any pillar is weakened."

Other parts of the speech of the Leader are as follows:

- But about the elections, it is said that some people are hesitant to participate or not because of the pressures of livelihood problems that we all feel. Or some say that we voted for someone with enthusiasm in different periods, but at the end of the period, it led to annoyance. So it is better not to participate. These are not valid arguments. These things should not discourage us.

- If there is inefficiency, we should make up for it with a good choice, not with a lack of choice. If there is a weakness in the management, what are the solutions? ‌ The way is not to participate in the elections or the way is to create management that is literally Islamic and popular.

- Of course, you must be careful in choosing. I emphasize that promises and words cannot be trusted. I say the same to foreigners who constantly deliver words. I have always told the officials not to rely on words and promises. The same is true in important issues of the country. The word is easy and everyone makes a claim. It remains to be seen whether this promise exists among the claims of the candidate in the past. If there is, it can be trusted.

- We also expect from the candidates themselves. Do not say promises that they are not sure they can fulfill. These promises are to the detriment of the country.

Therefore, it is not permissible to make promises that they are not sure they can fulfill. Make promises that are certain and approved by experts. But some promises that have no practical backing should not be made. Because it discourages people later, and that is a sin.

- Candidates give slogans that they believe in. Some chant slogans. We know people who may not believe in these slogans very much in their hearts. Slogans that are contrary to that person's beliefs should not be uttered.

- Last week I said that those who have influential words should encourage people to participate in the elections. This is not for these people. Each and every one of the people have a duty to encourage others to participate in the election. This is a right and a duty. Invite family members, colleagues, friends, and those you deal with.

- The other expectation from the candidates is to decide if they are successful, to commit themselves. First, social justice and reducing the gap between rich and poor. They must consider this one of their most basic tasks. Secondly, the fight against corruption without consideration and commitment to strengthening domestic production.

- We have presented it many times; this is what economists say. The axis of saving the country's economy is strengthening domestic production. Fight against smuggling, illegal imports and fight against those who fill their pockets through imports. Commit this, let this candidate commit himself, and state that he is committed to this so that if he is elected and does not act, the monitoring agencies will ask him why he did not do it.
