Tehran (IP) – A parliamentary delegation from the Iranian parliament will monitor the Syrian Presidential Election at the invitation of the Syrian government.

Iran PressIran News: Member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Iranian Parliament, Zohreh Elahyan, stated that in addition to the Iranian parliamentary delegation, other parliamentary delegations from different countries would be present in Syria to monitor the presidential election.

"Evidence suggests that we will see a high-turnout election, and the people will vote for the most suitable person to rebuild Syria and make progress," she noted.

Regarding the Iran-Syria parliamentary relations, especially after the start of the war in Syria, she pointed out that the parliamentary relations between the two countries had always been strong, and the Iranian Parliament had supported the Syrian people in all circumstances and maintained relations with the Syrian parliament.

The presidential election inside Syria will be held on May 26.

Bashar al-Assad, Abdullah Salloum Abdullah, and Mahmoud Ahmad Marie are the three candidates for the Syrian presidential election.
