Tehran (IP)- Iran's foreign ministry spokesman said that if the previous agreement between Iran and the IAEA is extended, Iran will not be given ultra-safeguard access to the UN Watchdog."

Iran PressIran News: In response to a question about the extension of the agreement between Iran and the IAEA, Saeed Khatibzadeh, the spokesman of Iran's foreign ministry, said on his weekly presser: "Discussions on extending the agreement have taken place in the Supreme National Security Council and will be announced by the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) officially.

He added: "It is essential to pay attention to the fact that the memorandum does not give access beyond safeguard to the IAEA."

"Iran, in agreement with the IAEA, has decided to operate the cameras within the framework of the Additional Protocol, and no access to the IAEA has been granted since the day the parliament approved it," he said.

"If we reach an agreement in Vienna, IAEA can access these films. The decision will finally be announced today," Khaatibzadeh added.

"Good progress has been made, and we believe an agreement is available in the Viena talks," Khatibzadeh said.

Khatibzadeh also announced Zarif's short visit to the Rep. of Azerbaijan and Armenia without mentioning the exact time.

Parliament's resolution on non-implementation of Additional Protocol is binding

In response to a question about the extension of the understanding between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said: "The parliament's resolution is binding and does not provide access beyond safeguards agreents or implementation of the Additional Protocol by Iran."

He added: "If there is an agreement or an extension, the agency will still not be given extra access. If an agreement is reached, the agency will be allowed access to the films.

Khatibzadeh said about what happened to the Iranian ship in Indonesia: "It is going through its legal process. Tomorrow is another court hearing on some issues related to the ship's entry into Indonesian waters. We expect this to be concluded soon."

Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman said: "Everyone knows it was within the framework of Astana and Geneva to write a new Syrian constitution; however, it is clear that international law recognizes the current constitution, and accordingly, presidential elections are being held in Syria."

Khatibzadeh added: "Iran has always supported the political process in Syria, and a delegation from the parliament traveled to this country as an observer for the presidential election, and this process was also supported during Zarif's visit."

Regarding the appointment of the Iranian ambassador to Britain, Khatibzadeh said: "We have introduced our ambassador since last year. The British government has also introduced its ambassador for several months, and it is in the process of administrative procedures.

He also spoke about Zarif's European tour and the effort to attract investment after the agreement: "Zarif's trip to Europe was on the agenda for several months, and in this trip, in addition to economic issues, bilateral issues, etc., serious regional issues from the occupied territories to Iraq and Afghanistan were discussed."

He also said about the Vienna talks: Until we reach an agreement, the United States will not have a place in the JCPOA's room and table until fully returning to its obligations under the JCPOA.

Bahrain's accusation against Iranian bank has no legal basis

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said that Bahrain's accusation of money laundering by Iranian al-Mustaqbal Bank had been repetitive and had no legal basis.

In response to whether we can hope that this round of talks in Vienna will resume this week, is the final round? Saeed Khatibzadeh Stated: "We do not consider any specific time for except when all the interests of the great nation of Iran are served within the framework of the JCPOA. The nuclear deal will be our roadmap. We told the other side that they should avoid using Vienna's power and energy to negotiate non-negotiable issues. Nothing beyond the JCPOA negotiation will be discussed. The United States has been asked to fulfill its obligations under the Joint Commission under the JCPOA."

"We will not limit ourselves or put ourselves in a tight spot," he added.

Regarding Iran's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Majid Takht-Ravanchi's virtual conversation with Senator Chris Murphy, he noted: Takht-Ravanchi's stressed that the United States could not use sanctions as a negotiating tool. He strongly criticized the unequivocal US support for the occupying regime in Al-Quds. The United States did not even allow a statement to be issued in the Security Council. The issue of Iranian prisoners in the United States has also been raised, and Takht-Ravanchi said this is one of the most urgent humanitarian issues and the prisoners should be released as soon as possible."

He pointed out that what had been said about the suspension of sanctions in 120 and 180 days was related to Congress, and in the JCPOA, it was stated that the sanctions should be removed completely at the end of eight years.

"What is being discussed in Vienna is the return of the United States to its obligations under the JCPOA; Iran's compensatory measures will not be stopped until the effective lifting of sanctions; the JCPOA is the document we are talking about," Khatibzadeh concluded.
