Tehran (IP): Foreign Ministry spokesman said that all agreements between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) are in the framework of Iran’s parliament law.

Iran PressIran News: Attending his weekly press conference on Monday and in response to Iran Press News Agency's question on Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi’s visit to Tehran and agreeing to suspend the Additional Protocol for three months, Saeed Khatibzadeh said that considerable diplomatic achievements were gained for Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) in this visit.

Khatibzadeh went on to say that all steps were taken as it has been stated in the parliament’s law, and some agreements were made for verification.

Foreign ministry spokesman stressed that according to the safeguard agreement, all cameras are on but no recording and data will be shared with the IAEA until sanctions will be lifted.

Implementing Additional Protocols will be suspended, but in the framework of the parliament’s law, Khatibzadeh highlighted.

AEOI will provide further information on the agreement with IAEA  

Referring to the fact that the issue has many technical aspects, he added that the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) will provide the media with full information in a couple of days.

Iran and Portugal political consultations and Qatari FM in Iran

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said that the most important issue which happened last week was the holding of the third round of political consultations between Iran and Portugal.

"Last week, we had the visit of the Qatari Foreign Minister to Iran, as well as the Qatari Minister of Roads, who had talks with the Iranian Foreign Minister and other Iranian officials."

“Iranian President Hassan Rouhani had a telephone conversation with President of Switzerland, the Chancellor of Germany, as well as the President of Turkey,” Khatibzadeh added.

He added: "Yesterday, IAEA DG Rafael Grossi visited Iran and had meetings with the head of the Atomic Energy Organization and the Iranian Foreign Minister."

Also, a number of virtual meetings of the political deputies of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs with Afghanistan and some other countries were held last week. 

According to Khatibzadeh, the most important issue was the holding of the third round of political consultations between Iran and Portugal, which was held virtually.

He also referred to the release of four Iranian detainees from prison in the Indian state of Bangalore.

Khatibzadeh noted that the visit of the Iranian special envoy for Syria to the Astana summit took place last week.
