Araghchi calls parliamentary meeting tough but useful

Tehran (IP) - Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, called his meeting with the Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee about Vienna talks very tough.

Iran PressIran News: "Yesterday I spent 4hrs before our Parliament's NatSec/FP Commission to brief MPs on Vienna talks. Very tough. But useful," the diplomat tweeted.

"The bottom line is the same: Having left JCPOA, the US must first provide verifiable sanctions lifting. Iran will then resume full implementation. Is the US ready?" he added.

Araghchi briefed the Members of the Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Parliament about Vienna Talks on Sunday.

Shahriar Heydari, a member of the Commission, told Iran Press about the meeting: "Araghchi said that the sanctions were negotiated in two parts, thematic and individual, and most of the thematic sanctions were lifted."

The Commission's member said on the sanctions of institutions and individuals and legal entities, out of 1,500 sanctions, 1,100 sanctions have been lifted, and we are negotiating the lifting of another 400 sanctions, including those related to human rights.

Araghchi announced that 95% of the total sanctions had been lifted, and on that 5%, the negotiations are underway that would be lifted in the future, the parliament member highlighted.
