MFA, government must support private sector exporters: Zarif

Tehran (IP) - Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that the government and Ministry of Foreign Affairs must support the private sector's exporters.

Iran Press/Iran news: Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Tuesday in a meeting with the managers of companies exporting technical and engineering goods and services, said: "Export of goods and technical, engineering services is one of the important areas of the country's development."

According to Zarif, it is the government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs's duty to support private sector exporters, and the government cannot replace the private sector in this regard.

He said: "Another task of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is to introduce and transfer domestic capabilities to foreign countries so that Iranian companies can participate in foreign and international tenders."

"We have emphasized to our ambassadors abroad that the evaluation of their performance is based on the number of exports of non-oil goods, technical engineering services, exports of manpower and imports of capital, technology and tourism development," FM Zarif added.
