Khuzestan-Iraq's borders closed due to corona outbraek: Minister

Iran's Minister of Interior announced that the borders between Khuzestan Province in southwest Iran and Iraq were closed due to the outbreak of the coronavirus.

Iran PressIran news: At the end of the meeting of the National Taskforce for Combating the Coronavirus on Tuesday, Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli said that Khuzestan's situation turned to red alert and called for dispatching medical staff and equipment to the province. 

"Of course, health instructions are observed in Khuzestan province such that the observation has reached from 20% to 80%, and the situation in this province has improved compared to the previous week," Rahmani Fazli added. 

"The borders of Khuzestan are completely closed," he said and reminded that only Iranians who have gone to Iraq have the right to enter Iran provided that their corona test is negative, otherwise they must be hospitalized.

Khuzestan's borders are also closed to its neighboring provinces Ilam, Kermanshah, and Kordestan, with a 2-week limitation practiced in the cities. 

The minister said: "12,500 people daily take the coronavirus tests in Khuzestan province, and that the patient-tracking process has begun."
