Vienna (IP) - Iran's ambassador and permanent representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency elaborated on the country’s nuclear scale-back measures, in accordance with the parliament’s adoption to neutralize sanctions.

Iran PressIran News: Kazem Gharibabadi elaborated on the parliament’s scale-back measures and Iran is scheduled to take reducing steps in the following fields as of February 23, 2021:

  • - Implementation of the provisions of Additional Protocol
  • - Amendment Code 3.1 to the sub-arrangements of the Safeguards Agreement (for early notification of nuclear facilities to the IAEA)
  • - Use of modern technologies and long-term presence of the Agency in Iran
  • - Transparent measures related to yellow cake
  • - Transparent measures related to enrichment
  • - Accesses under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA)
  • - Monitoring and verification of the implementation of voluntary actions
  • - Transparent measures related to manufacturing centrifuge parts

The strategic plan for ‘lifting sanctions and protecting the interests of the Iranian people’ was amended in the Islamic Consultative Assembly on Wednesday, December 3, and approved by the Guardian Council. On the same day, the speaker of the parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, in a letter to President Hassan Rouhani, ordered to implement the law.

According to Article 6 of the plan, "In case of non-fulfillment of the obligations of the JCPOA signatories and normal banking relations and complete removal of barriers to export and full sale of Iranian oil and oil products and full and rapid return of foreign exchange of sale, two months after the implementation of this law, the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran is obliged to halt the voluntary implementation of the Additional Protocol."
