Vienna (IP)- The leak or unauthorized access to IAEA confidential information has been a major challenge in relations between the IAEA and the Islamic Republic for the past two decades, Iran's Ambassador and Permanent Representative to International Organizations in Vienna said.

Iran Press/Europe: Kazem Gharibabadi stressed: "over the past two decades, Iran has repeatedly expressed its concern about information leaks, but it has not yet been properly addressed."

"Iran believes that countries generally do information leaks to the media, but there is no doubt that the IAEA is responsible for maintaining confidential information and should reconsider its measures," the envoy said. Gharibabadi added: "Due to the wide range of Iran's nuclear activities, the disclosure of confidential safeguards information will bring damages and security threats to the country."

Regarding the content of Iran's letter to the IAEA, Iran's envoy said: "In this letter, Iran expressed its concerns in 6 areas and offered thirteen ways to deal with it."
