Iran Press/ Iran News: Farzad Pilten said that the volume of Iran-Syria trade decreased and stated that, although in 2010 the trade volume between the two countries was 550 million dollars, in 2018 the trade volume between Iran and Syria reached 105 million dollars.
The Director-General of the Arab and African Department of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran stated: Of the $ 550 million in trade between the two countries in 2010, $ 520 million was the value of Iran's exports to Syria and $ 30 million was the value of goods imported from Syria to Iran.
Regarding the trade volume between Iran and Syria this current Iranian year (starting on March 21), he added: "In the first seven months of this year, the trade volume between the two countries was $ 83 million, of which $ 73 million were exports to Syria and about $ 10 million were imports from Syria."
"The main products exported to Syria are powdered milk, auto parts, pipes and profiles, various types of iron and steel rods, etc.," Pilten said.
He pointed out that from 2008 to 2018, the export of technical and engineering services to Syria was about $ 2.2 billion, he said: "The construction of a flour factory, a factory for refining mineral oils, launching car production lines and creating power stations are among the most important grounds for exporting technical and engineering services of Iranian companies to Syria has been."
Referring to Syria's $ 4.3 billion in imports in 2019, he said: "This is while the country had only $ 309 million in exports in that year, so this volume of imports will have good export opportunities for us.
"The main products exported to Syria are powdered milk, auto parts, pipes and profiles, various types of iron and steel rods, etc.," Pilten said.
